Specific duck plucker for wet plucking fattened ducks, allowing two operators to work simultaneously. Robust and fast, ideal for small manual slaughterhouses with high plucking rates.

Description

The Plumex 2005 duck plucking machine is available in two versions: single or double station. The double-station version is equipped with an additional brush unit to enable two operators to work simultaneously (either side by side or face to face).

Wet plucking machine for fattened ducks with:

  • 4 stainless steel feather rollers for roughing the work. The rollers are fitted with rubber scrapers to prevent the feathers from rolling up.
  • 15 food-grade rubber brushes with stainless steel bars for single workstation and 24 for double workstation (15 + 9 extra on the other side). These brushes make it easy to feather the neck and stubborn feathers. The two lateral bars allow the operator to rest and prevent poultry from being sucked up by the brushes.

The rollers and rubber brushes axles are mounted on stainless steel ball bearings. The brushes and rollers are driven by a single belt.

To pluck the ducks, the operator has to place them by hand on the rollers and brushes of the plucking machine. The feathers are collected in two plastic baskets underneath. The feet of the plucker are height-adjustable and fitted with 4 stainless steel castors with brakes.

This duck plucking machine includes a variable speed drive with rotation reverse mode for easy cleaning of the machine: it can be run in reverse to remove all the feathers located under the roller scrapers. The frame, plating and mechanics of the Plumex 2005 are made of stainless steel. The machine complies with CE safety standards: the motor switches off when the cover is opened, and an emergency stop control is located at knee height along the entire length of the machine and on each side.

Use and maintenance 

  • Connect the plucking machine to the mains, making sure that the male plug is earthed.
  • Hold the duck by the legs, head downwards (note that ducks must be properly scalded before using this plucker).
  • Briefly present the head and neck between the rubber brushes, up and down.
  • Then pluck the duck's body, wings and tail using the rollers.
  • Finally, use the rubber brushes again, holding the duck by the neck and legs, to finish plucking the areas where feathers remain.

Be sure to clean (with a water jet and sponge, avoiding electrical parts) and maintain the machine after each slaughtering session, according to the instructions in the technical manual. Do not use bleach, il will damage or stain the stainless steel surface.
